Natural Selection - the ultimate process

Updated: Dec 24, 2020

Natural selection is a process that just runs, it has no allegiance or plan. It lives in the moment, solving for the gene's stability objective, subject to the environmental constraints of the current moment. The constraint set includes the gene's host. That is, you and me.

So, perhaps, evolution's natural selection metaphor is a constraint optimization problem.

Thanks to Richard Dawkins for the inspiration.
